Investigators are sifting through a burned out home on Route 127 in the Saint Andrews area looking for clues to determine the cause of the fire. Fire Chief Kevin Theriault tells newsysj.ca the alarm was sounded at approximately 2 yesterday afternoon. He says first crews on the scene encountered heavy fire in a two storey home. Crews were on scene about six hours and Theriault says the house was heavily damaged.
Fire departments from St Stephen – St George – Oak Bay along with Ambulance NB – RCMP – and NB Power were on scene assisting. The highway was closed to traffic for a time while fire department tanker trucks shuttled water to the fire scene.
Theriault says all residents made it out safely – however – a family pet was lost in the blaze.
