Education Minister Dominic Cardy is cautioning groups organizing events for this year’s high school graduates. The Minister says school organized proms won’t be happening – but – he is aware some of the School Districts – Schools – and parents are working to organize events.
Cardy says they need to contact local Public Health officials for guidance on how to safely organize the event following guidelines to properly celebrate “this important milestone in the lives of our grads.” He says he doesn’t want to hear about parties behind “closed doors or underground” exposing students and their families to risks.
The Minister also says his department will be releasing guidelines for graduation ceremonies soon.
