
It’s a double digit increase in COVID cases since yesterday and all but one of the 16 new cases are in the Edmundston region including 12 at a long term care home in that city. The other case is in the Moncton region.
The dozen new cases at the Manoir Belle View nursing home in Edmundston include six residents and six staff members. Another round of mass testing is scheduled for later this week.
The number of active cases now stands at 160. Public Health reports 12 people have been listed as recovered since yesterday. Seven people are in hospital with three of them in intensive care. Twenty-two COVID related deaths have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic almost a year ago.
The Edmundston region remains at the RED Level while the rest of the province is in the Orange Level.
