The daily update on new COVID cases is showing only 5 new cases in the past 24 hours. One of the new cases is here in the Saint John region – there is also a new case in the Bathurst region while the Edmundston region is posting three new cases.
Public Health says 10 people have recovered since yesterday. There are now 156 active cases in the province – 5 of them here in the Saint John region. Six people are in hospital with two in intensive care. The COVID pandemic has claimed 22 lives in the province so far.
There have been four confirmed cases of the U-K variant of COVID. Two were related to international travel – one was related to travel within Canada – and the other was a contact of one the previous confirmed cases.
