Full restoration of the city’s information technology network is not expected to be completed until late January. The network was hit by a ransom ware attack in mid-November.
City Manager John Collin says we can afford to take the proper time to complete the task since all civic services are being delivered.
City officials have not disclosed any details of the attack which hit late afternoon on November 13th. Shortly after the attack – Collin said all options were on the table to restore services including payment of the ransom demanded. He declined to say how much was being demanded. So far – there has been no word on whether the ransom was paid. Collin did confirm the city has insurance coverage for cyber incidents.
