Health officials have scheduled a COVID briefing for this afternoon with Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Jennifer Russell and Health Minister Dorothy Shephard. The briefing comes as the Edmundston region remains a hotspot for COVID cases including significant outbreaks in three area nursing homes.
We may hear more about the U-K variant of the virus after three cases were confirmed in the province earlier this week. And there may be a change in the restricted levels of recovery. The Yellow Level has been under review and speculation is mounting it may be dropped altogether to keep tighter control of the variants. We may also learn if travel restrictions and/or enforcement are strengthened even more.
