COVID is claiming another victim – air travel through Saint John. As of today – Air Canada is suspending its only flight to Saint John from Montreal. The daily service was restored last Spring after the initial COVID lockdown. But the airline industry has been struggling due to weak passenger demand and travel restrictions. Airlines in Canada have cut service on a number of routes throughout the country and internationally.
The airport says Air Canada – Porter – and Sunwing are committed to restoring service as soon as travel restrictions are lifted and passenger demand returns – maybe as early as April. Flair Airlines – a discount carrier – also remains committed to launching a service to Toronto.
