Today’s COVID update is a mixture of good news and bad news. The good news is Premier Blaine Higgs says we are seeing signs of progress in the Saint John – Moncton – and Fredericton River Valley regions with case numbers appearing to stabilize since going to the RED Level earlier this week. And Higgs says if this continues – these zones could be moved back to the Orange Level in a matter of days – not weeks.
At the opposite end is the situation in the Edmundston region. There are currently 112-active cases in the region – that is about one third of the 324-active cases in the province today. Premier Higgs says Public Health will be presenting updated “lockdown” procedures to the all party cabinet committee tomorrow – and – he says it’s looking likely the Edmundston region will be going to a “LOCKDOWN” status.
