Public Health confirms a person in their sixties has died as a result of COVID-19 here in the Saint John region. The COVID death toll now stands at 34.

Seven new cases have been confirmed around the province since yesterday including 2 here in the Saint John region. One person is in their fifties while the other is in their nineties. Both cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases.

Three cases are in the Edmundston region with 2 of the 3 cases contacts of previously confirmed cases – and – the other is under investigation. The other cases today include a person in their twenties in the Moncton region and a person in their forties in the Miramichi region. Both of those cases are travel related.

Public Health reports 7 people recovered since yesterday with the number of active cases around the province at 138 including 13 here in the Saint John region. Fifteen people are in hospital including 5 in intensive care.
