
The COVID death now stands at 41 with the passing of another resident of a Grand Falls special care home dealing with an outbreak of the COVID South African variant. The person was over 90 years of age. This is the fourth death related to the outbreak since Monday.
Public Health is reporting 8 new cases of COVID in the province today including 2 in the Saint John region which are related to travel.
Elsewhere – there are 2 new cases in the Moncton region with one related to travel and the other a contact of a previously confirmed case. There is one new case in the Fredericton River Valley region which is under investigation – and – there are 3 cases in the Bathurst region with all contacts of previously confirmed cases.
Public Health says 6 people have been listed as recovered since yesterday. The number of active cases is 141 including 23 in the Saint John region. Seven people are in hospital including 2 in intensive care here in New Brunswick while 3 New Brunswickers are in hospital out of proivnce.
