City crews are preparing the messy mix of winter weather headed in our direction tomorrow into Wednesday. An anti-icing brine has been applied to major routes to start the melting process as the snow begins to fall. Crews have also been checking catch basins in know trouble spots to ensure they are open to handle any run-off as the snow changes to ice pellets then rain.
You are being advised to check drainage around your home including any catch basins or ditches on or near your property. With the possibility of freezing rain and heavy wet snow – you should be prepared for prolonged power outages as well.
If flooding does occur – you are reminded to avoid driving through flooded areas and observe all barricades and directions from city works personnel – police – and fire department personnel.
