Another New Brunswicker has fallen to the COVID virus – Public Health says a person in their eighties has died “of underlying complications including COVID-19.” The person was a resident of an Edmundston nursing home. That brings the number of COVID related deaths to 21 since last March.
Meantime – 15 new cases of COVID have been confirmed in the province since yesterday including three here in the Saint John region – one of which is at St Stephen High School. The Edmundston zone – which just came out of LOCKDOWN and is now in the RED Level – is reporting 10 new cases while the Moncton region has two new cases.
Public Health says six of the ten new cases in Edmundston are related to the outbreak at Villa des Jardins – another long term care home.
The number of active cases sits at 183 including 5 here in the Saint John region. Seven people are in hospital with two of them in intensive care.
