The provincial Environment Department has issued Air Quality Approvals for two industries on Bayside Drive.
A new Air Quality Approval has been issued for the Irving Paper Ltd. mill on Bayside Drive. The mill produces about 850 tonnes per day of pulp from softwood and produces about 1200 tonnes per day of speciality grade paper.
The current approval expires March 31st with the new approval taking effect on April 01. It follows a public consultation process that ran between September of last year and January of this year.
An Air Quality Approval has also been renewed for the Atlantic Wallboard Ltd Partnership. The company produces commercial grade wallboard products for the construction industry. The current approval expires on March 30th with the new approval kicking in on March 31st. The public consultation process ran between June and November of last year.
