The Port is now adding its voice to the concerns about recent explosions at the American Iron and Metal shredder operation on the west side, The company has a long term lease with the port corporation for its west side facility.
In a statement this afternoon – the Port says it shares the concerns of the province – the city – and residents about what it terms “the unacceptable increase in the number of incidents occurring at the American Iron and Metal Saint John (AIM) facility over the past weeks.”
The Port says it is meeting with AIM officials to discuss concerns and will be supporting efforts to reduce the incidents. You can read the entire statement here.
