Nominations for the May elections have officially closed and there is plenty of interest here in Saint John.

As of 2:26 this afternoon – four are in the running for Mayor – Darrell Bastarache – Donna Reardon – Mel Vincent – and Howard Yeomans.

Eight are seeking the two Councillor at Large seats – Anthony Capson – Neil Clements – Brent Harris – Steven Henderson – Dean Secord – incumbent Gary Sullivan – Guy Verna – and Arty Watson.

Seven have filed papers for the two seats in Ward 1 – incumbent Blake Armstrong – Sean Crowley – Joanna Killen – Richard Lee – incumbent Greg Norton – Christopher Withers – and Steven Woodin.

In Ward 2 – fourteen people have filed for the two seats – Jason Alcorn – Larry Harlow – Patty Higgins – Jerald Kunitzky – Timothy Little – incumbent John MacKenzie – Deborah McCormick – Barry Ogden – Jacob Stackhouse – Tamara Steele – Jocelyn Stevens – Justin Tinker – Conor Vienneau – and Russell Wilson.

In Ward 3 – eight are seeking the two seats – Mariah Darling – Peter Duncan – Barbara Ellemberg – incumbent David Hickey – Jordan Hollingsworth – Frank James – Gerry Lowe – and Adam Salesse.

For Ward 4 – ten people have filed for the two seats available – Lynaya Astephen – Daryl Bishop – Bruce Court – Christopher Daigle – Gina Hooley – Kimberley Hughes – Daniel O”Conner – Paula Radwan – Greg Stewart – and incumbent Ray Strowbridge.
