Public Health reports 2 new cases of COVID confirmed here in the Saint John region. One case is travel related while the other is a contact of a previously confirmed case.
The other 14 new cases today are in the Edmundston region. Eleven of those cases are contact of a previously confirmed case while the other 3 are being investigated. The City of Edmundston and Upper Madawaska remain in LOCKDOWN as health officials try to gain the upper hand on an outbreak primarily driven by the COVID U-K variant.
Public Health says 7 people have recovered since yesterday. The number of active cases is now 141 including 10 here in the Saint John region. Nineteen people are in hospital including 13 in intensive care. Thirty-three COVID deaths have been recorded since the beginning of the pandemic over a year ago.
