Public Health reports 7 new cases of COVID confirmed since yesterday including 2 travel related cases where New Brunswickers are isolating out of province.

There are 2 new cases in the Saint John region – one travel related while the is a contact of a previously confirmed case.

There are 4 cases in the Fredericton River Valley region – 3 are contacts of a previously confirmed case while the other is an out of province travel case. There is one new case in the Bathurst region which is also an out of province travel case.

Public Health says 10 people have been deemed recovered since yesterday and the number of active cases is 113 including 22 in the Saint John region. Eleven patients are in hospital – 7 here in New Brunswick including 2 in intensive care while 4 are in hospital out of province. The COVID related death toll remains at 41.

Meantime – another vaccination record was set yesterday. Public Health says 11,535 doses were administered. Horizon Health says more than 2300 people attended yesterday’s vaccination clinic at Exhibition Park – that’s the most appointments during one clinic to date. More than 45% of the population over the age of 12 – more than 300,000 people – have now received at least one dose of a vaccine.
