Former Coast Guard site to be rehabilitated for the proposed Fundy Quay commercial/residential development

It’s another major step forward for the proposed Fundy Quay commercial/residential development on the former Coast Guard site in the uptown. The city has issued a tender call for repairs and raising of the seawall around the site by at least one metre in anticipation of rising sea levels.

The tender call closes on February 23rd with work expected to begin soon after the awarding of the contract. Some portions of the work must be completed by the end of September of this year while the balance of the work is scheduled for completion by the end of September in 2022. The total cost of this phase of the project is expected to be in the 15-million dollar range.

The city has also issued requests for proposals for engineering services for site services on the property as well as architectural services for design of extension of Harbour Passage around the Fundy Quay site and Loyalist Plaza.
