The official arrival of winter is still a few days away – but – the start to your Friday is winter like. The same storm that hammered the northeast U-S yesterday skimmed by our area leaving behind a white covering. Environment Canada is reporting just under 4-cms of snow fell yesterday. Crews have been working on the streets and sidewalks but there are slippery spots.

You can help by making sure your vehicle and its windows are clear of snow – slow down and allow some extra time for your commute – and leave additional space between you and traffic in front of you. If you are on foot – watch for slippery areas and remember sidewalks lined with brick can be especially slippery.

The Environment Canada forecast is calling for flurries throughout the day with brisk northerly winds with a high of one degree but feeling closer to minus 9 especially this morning. Lows overnight will remain chilly feeling like minus 12.

And while it may look like a winter wonderland this morning – the long range forecast is calling for a rainy start to next week – especially Monday with an expected high of 10.
