One new case of COVID has been confirmed in the Saint John region in the past 24-hours. Public Health says it is a person in their fifties.

The Edmundston region is the location of the only other confirmed case today – a person in their forties.

Public Health reports the total number of active cases has dropped to 98 with one person now in hospital in the intensive care unit. The Saint John – Moncton – and Fredericton Central regions remain at the Orange Level with heightened restrictions. Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – says the Moncton and Fredericton Central regions will be re-assessed tomorrow to determine if they can move back down to the Yellow Level. The Saint John region will be re-assessed later in the week.

The pandemic has claimed seven lives since being declared back in March.
