The province government is now making the second dose of AstraZeneca available to those who received their first shot at least 8 weeks ago – and – are 55 or older. In a news release – it is emphasized the second dose will be done “with the informed consent of each eligible person.” The vaccine is also being given to those who are house bound again with “informed consent.”

Meanwhile – Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Jennifer Russell says she expects to receive direction from the federal government soon on using another vaccine as a booster for those who received AstraZeneca as their first dose – but – are concerned about rare blood clots linked to the vaccine.
