A bit of a scare for some last night as smoke filled the pedway area leading into the City Market. Fire crews responded to the alarm and after checking through the market found a small area of the roof of the market where a repair had been earlier in the day.
Fire fighters opened the section and found some embers smouldering under the roofing material. They quickly snuffed out the embers. The only damage is a small hole in the roof.
