The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health says a record number of New Brunswickers received second does of COVID vaccines yesterday. Dr Jennifer Russell says more than 13,000 doses were administered – that translates to 25.2 percent of New Brunswickers 12 and over are fully vaccinated.
Russell says “I am so pleased to see the increasing number of New Brunswickers being vaccinated with both doses. I want to thank all New Brunswickers for doing their part in working towards our path to Green.”
The provincial government also reports 77 percent of “eligible New Brunswickers” have received their first dose of COVID vaccine.
Meantime – Public Health is reporting one new case of COVID today – a person in their thirties in the Bathurst region. The case is travel related. Public Health says 3 people have recovered since yesterday. The number of active cases now sits at 38 including 2 here in the Saint John region. Four people are in hospital – one of them in intensive care. Forty-five deaths have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic over a year ago.
