NB Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Jennifer Russell

Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – says all zones of the province should be ready to move to the Yellow Level by midnight March 07th if the situation remains stable and case counts continue to decline. Currently the entire province is at the Orange Level. But Russell says there will be changes to restrictions in the Yellow Level in part due to the risks posed by the COVID variants.

Some of those changes include expanding your “Steady 10” to a “Steady 15” list of contacts – sports teams will be allowed to play within their league across zones – and formal and informal outdoor gatherings of 50 people or less will be permitted with physical distancing in place. The update Yellow Level guidelines can be found here. You can watch the statements from Higgs and Russell in the Recent Video screen to the right of the page.

Premier Blaine Higgs warns if case numbers start to climb following March Break – we will continue move back from Yellow to more restrictive levels as needed.
