High school students will return to full time in school learning on April 12th following updates to the “Return to School” plan. Education Minister Dominic Cardy says these changes mean all students in Grades 9 through 12 will be learning in the classroom every day in the Yellow and Orange Public Health levels.”

Upon return to full time attendance – students and staff will be required to a clean face mask during the day unless eating or doing physical activity – mandatory seating plans will be implemented and on buses – and if a positive case of COVID-19 is confirmed in a high school – the school will be closed for three days to allow for contact tracing – school cleaning – and vaccination programs for student and staff.

Also beginning today – all high school staff will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination while high school students who are 16 or older with complex medical conditions will be eligible for a vaccination.

The plan meets with the approval of Public Health.
