NB Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell

The pandemic isn’t going to prevent Grandma’s home made cookies from getting to the grand kids. During yesterday’s COVID briefing a reporter – speaking for a 91-year old grandmother in Millidgeville and grandmothers everywhere – asked Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Jennifer Russell if sending cookies by mail to her grandson in Ontario was ok – and Russell’s response was yes – it is safe.

Meanwhile – it’s Super Bowl weekend – a weekend which traditionally sees home gatherings and parties at local pubs and bars to watch the big game. And both Russell and Health Minister Dorothy Shephard are urging people to keep Super Bowl Sunday festivities to a minimum.

Russell says ideally no get togethers would be preferred but reality says if you are going to have a Super Bowl gathering – keep it simple while Shephard says let’s let’s make sure we don’t fumble leading to new outbreaks of the virus.
