A rough day on the COVID front – Public Health is reporting 14 new cases confirmed since yesterday. Twelve of the cases are in the Edmundston region including an outbreak at the J D Irving sawmill in Saint Leonard where five cases have been confirmed. A Grand Falls daycare has also been hit with a case and is closed today to allow for contact tracing.
The Saint John region is reporting one new case – person in their eighties and there is one new case in the Fredericton River Valley zone.
There are 175 active cases around the province. Since yesterday – 23 people have been listed as recovered. Six people are in hospital – two of them in intensive care. COVID has claimed 21-New Brunswickers since the pandemic began last March.
The Edmundston region remains at the RED Level while the rest of the province is at the Orange Level.
