A good way to end the week – Public Health says there are no new cases of COVID to report today. There are 52-active cases in the province with three people in hospital – two of them remain in intensive care. There have been 8-COVID related deaths since mid-March.
The Edmundston area remains at the Orange Level with a number of restrictions as health officials deal with an outbreak at the region’s hospital.
Meantime – the province begins vaccinations tomorrow for top priority groups including nursing home residents and front line health care workers. The clinics are being at the Miramichi hospital. The provincial government received 1950-doses of the Pfizer vaccine. More will arrive in the province next week and another clinic is planned in Moncton for the week of December 28th – again for top priority groups. Premier Blaine Higgs says we should start receiving regular shipments of vaccines by January 11th.
