The ongoing COVID pandemic has taken another toll – this time it’s the highly popular Atlantic Balloon Fiesta in Sussex. In a statement on its Facebook page – the committee says it has been trying to assemble a 35th event this year.
After much consideration and discussion with partners and various levels of government – the committee has unanimously decided to cancel the 2021 Atlantic Balloon Fiesta. The committee says safety of pilots – spectators – vendors – and the community remains a top priority – and – it can’t guarantee that given the ongoing and changing COVID pandemic.
The committee says it will start planning for the 2022 edition of the Balloon Fiesta.
