One hour of free parking is coming to the uptown area. Common Council has approved a parking promotion that will see the city covering one hour of parking at metered spaces in the uptown area through the end of March.
The city is partnering with Uptown Saint John which has run a similar promotion in the business improvement area at different times over the past couple of years. The idea is to help bring back more people to the uptown area to support businesses hard hit by the pandemic. The one free parking option will be offered through the Hotspot parking app.
The city is providing a $35,000 grant for the program.
