We may be casting ballots on May 10th – butt – we will have to wait until May 25th for the results. Elections NB says with the Edmundston area now out of LOCKDOWN – the election process in that region can begin again.
The new election day for the Edmundston region is May 25th – and – that is the day results will be released for all areas of the province when the polls close at 8pm. Candidates in contests that were deemed elected by acclamation after the close of nominations on April 09th will also be declared as elected at that time.
Elections NB says the delay in results for other areas was necessary “because of the option for an elector from one part of the province to cast their ballot at another returning office if they are away from the place where they would normally vote.”
