The city’s I-T services are beginning to return to normal following a cyber attack in November. As of yesterday – the city is accepting debit and credit card payments for various services including water bills and parking tickets. Updated information can be found here. Some saintjohn.ca email addresses are also working once again.

The city took everything off-line in mid-November after a ransomware attack. City Hall confirmed a ransom was demanded but so far officials have not indicated if it was paid. Meantime – I-T crews have been working behind the scenes to securely restore the network. Last month – City Manager John Collin said he expected service to be restored by the end of January. Collin also confirmed earlier the city does have insurance coverage for this type of event.
