Saint John Police say they have seized hundreds of catalytic converters that were on their way out of the province yesterday. The seizure follows an ongoing investigation after over 50 reports of catalytic converters stolen from vehicles since last December. It’s estimated the converters seized are worth about $750,000.
The converters are targets for the minerals they contain which are extremely valuable in the market place at the moment.
Police say arrests and charges are anticipated following the seizure of the converters. And they are asking if you had a catalytic converter stolen from your vehicle – and – haven’t reported it – to contact Saint John Police at 506-648-3333.
