Utility and emergency crews in the Port City have been hopping over the past couple of hours. Saint John Energy has restored power to just over 1000 customers in the Manawagonish Road area.
Emergency crews were called to Taylor Avenue after reports of a natural gas leak in the area. The leak has been contained and Liberty Gas crews and NB Housing reps remain on the scene.
The fire department’s Hazardous Material unit has responded to a chemical spill at a trucking company on Bayside Drive. At last report – the situation was stabilized and crews should be clearing shortly with that section of the street re-opening soon.
