In a recent interview – Uptown Saint John Executive Director Nancy Tissington told newsysj.ca she expects an uptick in the use of outside patios this year – and – The Art Warehouse on Prince William Street wants to take advantage of the opportunity.

The shop has applied to establish a sidewalk cafe in front of its location on Prince William Street. The application requires a change in the Traffic By-Law to move a Loading Zone in front of the shop to an area on the opposite side of the street.

A staff report to Common Council recommends Council proceed with the required change. The report says “moving the loading zone would be beneficial and supported by the neighbouring businesses. The loading zone relocation will help assist in the community economic recovery from COVID-19. Council is expected to give first and second reading to the By-Law change at tomorrow night’s meeting.
