The “green” theme continued into Boxing Day with more rain and another high temperature record. Environment Canada says the high in the Saint John area hit 13.3 Celsius yesterday toppling the previous high of 12.8 Celsius set on December 26th in 1964. The average high for Boxing Day is minus 1.2 Celsius. For comparison – the high temperature in Orlando – Florida yesterday was 12 Celsius.
We received 36.5mm of rain yesterday – far short of the record 72.4mm record rainfall set in 1975.
Cooler temperatures are in the forecast over the next couple of days. But – the Environment Canada forecast is calling for a return of rain and double digit temperatures on New Year’s Day.
