Despite warnings and pleas – it appears a lot of us threw caution to the wind over the holidays. NB Chief Medical Officer of Health – Dr Jennifer Russell – says a common thread in many of the recent case clusters is people with COVID symptoms going to gatherings and work. And Premier Blaine Higgs says some people are still being less than truthful about contact information:

New Brunswick recorded 27-new COVID cases in the past 24-hours – that is the highest daily number of cases since the pandemic was declared in mid-March of last year. Russell says theses cases are related to the Christmas period and she is bracing for the impact of the New Year holiday.

All of New Brunswick is now in the Orange Level with tighter restrictions including single family bubbles that include only people living in the same residence – wearing of masks outdoors if physical distancing of six feet cannot be maintained – and no non-essential travel outside of your zone or the province.
