(FINAL UPDATE – 5:48PM – Saint John Police have taken 3 people into custody in connection with a weapon related call in the South End earlier this afternoon. Police say they received a call of a person with a weapon at Charlotte and Duke Streets.
Police say they located a suspect in a nearby building shortly after arriving on the scene. The 3 were taken into custody around 3:30. Police cleared the scene around 5.
No injuries were reported.)
(UPDATE – Police have apparently taken another person into custody in connection with this incident. It appears they are beginning to stand down) Saint John Police have the intersection of Duke and Charlotte Streets blocked off as they deal with some type of weapons call. The armoured tactical vehicle is also on the scene.
A witness tells newsysj.ca it appeared one man was taken into custody as the operation continues.
There are no reports of any shots being fired or any injuries.
